About the Geneva Summit:
The Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy is a major conference that shines a spotlight on urgent human rights situations that require global attention. It provides human rights heroes, activists and former political prisoners with a unique platform to testify about their personal struggles for democracy and freedom, while building an international community to take on dictatorships.
The Summit is held around the main annual session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, when foreign ministers gather in Geneva, to force critical issues onto the international agenda. The event is attended by hundreds of dissidents, victims, diplomats, journalists, student leaders and other concerned citizens. Thousands more watch online.
The Geneva Summit is sponsored by a coalition of 25 human rights NGOs from around the world, and organized by UN Watch. It has been featured in media around the globe, including CNN, AFP, AP, DW, the Wall Street Journal and The Australian.

Role Overview
The Geneva Summit Fellow will support the Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy, assisting in a variety of capacities to ensure the successful execution of the event and its associated activities. The Fellow will work closely with the Chief of Staff and may receive guidance from other designated supervisors.
Key Responsibilities
- Research:
- Conduct research to find optimal candidates to be speakers for the Geneva Summit
- Writing:
- Draft and edit the Geneva Summit newsletter.
- Create engaging content for social media platforms.
- Website Management:
- Oversee the Geneva Summit website, ensuring content is current and engaging.
- Event Logistics:
- Assist in the planning and coordination of event logistics.
- General Support:
- Provide additional support for various tasks related to the Geneva Summit.
- Communications:
- Develop and execute communication strategies for promoting the Geneva Summit.(Newsletters, invitations, speaker and award announcements)
- Draft press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials.
- Coordinate with media outlets and manage press relations.
- Facilitate communication between the Geneva Summit and its various stakeholders. (Partners, Schools, Sponsors, Speech Coach, Media)
Working Conditions
- Hours: Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM.
- Location: In Geneva, Switzerland or remote (European time zone preferred)
Job requirements
- Experience in research concerning human rights, government or international relations.
- Superb English-language writing skills, demonstrated by publications.
- Enthusiasm for the mission of the Geneva Summit for Human Rights.
